At Little Gems we grow and source the highest quality alpaca yarn for today’s discerning knitter.  We look for yarn with super softness and that special lustre to supply at a competitive price.

Most of our own wool is spun at a mini mill but some is hand spun by local spinners to offer a wider choice to our customers.

Once we have received our own beautiful yarn back from the mini mill, we knit it into delicate, heirloom baby garments, as well as everyday wear for under three year olds all with a retro look and superb softness.  This stunning range of baby wear is ideal for Reborn enthusiasts and adds a touch of luxury to a treasured little one. A photo and details of the particular animal the fleece came from and how to wash and care for the garment is sent with each order.

We offer only the softest, brightest alpaca in a wide range of natural shades in 4ply, Double Knitting and Aran. All orders will be sent with washing and care instructions as well as knitting tips for alpaca. At present we offer a limited selection of dyed alpaca wools imported from Peru whilst we source more UK produced quality alpaca yarn.

Through our website, craft fairs, country fairs and talks we aim to inspire and encourage people to knit with this fabulous wool and to produce their own quality garments.  Therefore we carry wool produced by many different herds throughout the South of England, if you would like us to stock your home produced yarn please contact us for a chat.
